Neon Zip – Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile game Neon Zip (the "App"), published by Hung Phat Elevator ("we", "us"), handles information. It applies to the App on Apple iOS/iPadOS and Google Android. Android versions distributed outside Google Play contain ads; section 8 describes the additional data processing in those versions. The web (browser) versions on game portals are described in section 9.

Summary: Neon Zip does not collect, store on our servers, share or sell any personal data. The App works completely offline (Google Play and iOS versions; see section 8 for Android versions from other stores and section 9 for web versions).

1. Information we collect

We do not collect any information from you. Specifically, the App (Google Play and iOS versions; see section 8 for Android versions from other stores and section 9 for web versions):

2. Information stored only on your device

To remember your progress, the App saves a few game settings locally on your device using the operating system's standard storage (UserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences/DataStore on Android):

The Daily Puzzle is chosen from your device's local date; the date is used only on your device and is never sent anywhere.

This information never leaves your device and is not sent to us or to anyone else. It may be included in your device's own backups (for example iCloud or Google backup) according to your device settings, which are governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policies. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the App (or, on Android, by clearing the App's storage).

3. Sharing of information

Because we do not collect any information, we do not share or sell information with any third party. In the ad-supported Android versions distributed outside Google Play, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects certain data and shares it with Google, as described in section 8. In the web versions, the game portal on which you play runs its own ads and data collection under its own privacy policy, as described in section 9.

4. Children's privacy

The App is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). Since the App collects no personal information at all (Google Play and iOS versions; see section 8 for Android versions from other stores and section 9 for web versions), no personal information from children is collected, used or disclosed. Parents or guardians with questions may contact us using the details below.

5. Security

No personal data is transmitted or stored by us (Google Play and iOS versions; see section 8 for Android versions from other stores and section 9 for web versions). Game progress is kept in the App's private storage on your device, protected by your device's operating system.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or Vietnam's personal data protection law), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete; the locally stored game progress is fully under your control as described in section 2.

7. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the App changes how information is handled (for example by adding online features), we will update this policy and the "Effective date" above before that version is released.

8. Android versions distributed outside Google Play

Android versions distributed outside Google Play (Samsung Galaxy Store, Huawei AppGallery, Xiaomi GetApps) show ads via Google AdMob, a service provided by Google. These versions include the Google Mobile Ads SDK and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK. The versions of Neon Zip from Google Play and the Apple App Store contain no ads and no third-party SDKs, and everything in sections 1–7 applies to them unchanged.

What data is processed. We (Hung Phat Elevator) still do not receive, store, share or sell any personal data, and we have no servers. However, in these ad-supported versions the Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects the following data and shares it with Google, for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention:

According to Google, this data is encrypted in transit. To load ads, these versions request the internet and network-state permissions and the advertising ID permission.

Consent. Each time the App starts, it uses Google's User Messaging Platform to check whether a consent or privacy message is required in your region (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland under the GDPR, and in US states with applicable privacy laws). Ads are only requested after this check allows it, and personalised ads are only shown where you have consented and where permitted by law. Where required, a "PRIVACY OPTIONS" button on the main menu lets you review or change your choices at any time.

Your choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's Android settings (for example Settings → Google → Ads or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on the device). Uninstalling the App stops all data processing by the App and the ads SDK.

How Google uses data. Learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and read Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Requests about data held by Google should be made to Google using the tools described there.

Ads and children. The ad-supported versions are intended for users aged 13 and over and are not directed at children. Ads are never shown during gameplay, only between levels or when you choose to watch an optional rewarded ad, and ad content is limited to material suitable for general audiences with parental guidance (PG).

Game progress. As described in section 2, your unlocked levels, stars, hints, Daily Puzzle streak and settings stay only on your device and are never sent to us, to Google or to anyone else.

9. Web versions played in a browser (game portals)

Neon Zip is also published as a web game that you play in a browser on game websites and platforms ("portals"), such as CrazyGames, Poki, GameDistribution, GameMonetize, Y8, Facebook Instant Games and itch.io. The web version itself does not collect, send or sell any personal data, and we (Hung Phat Elevator) do not receive any data from it. It does not ask for an account, does not set cookies, contains no analytics or tracking code of our own, and does not send your progress to any server.

Information stored in your browser. To remember your progress, the web version saves the same game progress and settings as listed in section 2 (highest unlocked level, stars per level, hints, Daily Puzzle streak, best streak and last cleared date, colour theme, whether the tutorial has been shown, and sound/haptics settings) in your browser's local storage (localStorage) for the website that serves the game, under keys starting with neonzip.: highestUnlocked, levelStars, hints, theme, dailyStreak, bestDailyStreak, dailyLastCleared, tutorialSeen, soundOn, hapticsOn. This information stays in your browser; the game does not send it to us or to anyone else. You can delete it by clearing the site data for that website in your browser settings. If your browser blocks local storage (for example in some private-browsing modes), progress is kept only in memory and is lost when you close the game.

Ads and data collection by the portal. On most portals the game is shown inside the portal's website or app, and the portal loads its own software development kit (SDK) into the game page from its own servers. The game uses this SDK only to tell the portal when loading has finished, when gameplay starts and stops, and when an ad may be shown; it does not pass your game progress or any personal data to it. The portal (not us) operates the ads and decides which ads are shown, and the portal and its advertising partners may use cookies, device or advertising identifiers, your IP address and similar technologies, and may ask for your consent where required by law. This processing is the responsibility of the portal under its own privacy policy, and any consent or privacy choices are offered and managed by the portal. The itch.io version contains no ads SDK and shows no ads.

Facebook Instant Games. When you play on Facebook or Messenger, Meta provides the platform and the ads. The game does not request your Facebook name, profile picture, friends list or player ID; Meta processes data about your use of its services under Meta's Privacy Policy.

Portal privacy policies. Please read the privacy policy of the portal on which you play, for example:

If you play the game on another website, that website's privacy policy applies to any data it collects.

Ads and children. Interstitial ads are never shown while a level is being played: they may appear before your first game (on portals that require it) or between levels, at most about once every three minutes, and rewarded ads are only shown when you choose to watch one. Age requirements, ad content and children's privacy protections on each portal are set by that portal.
